Jordan Wertley
CEO

Jordan Wertley
CEO
Background Data: Ever since getting his first computer at age 12, Jordan was hooked. He started working on them professionally while still in high school, as an intern at Hershey School District. As a child, he originally wanted to be a train engineer, but his younger self would be dazzled by the places technology has taken him.
Trademark: Jordan’s favorite part of his career is fixing things that have long been broken and making IT environments run like new.
A Hershey native, Jordan got his start repairing computers in his basement in Elizabethtown. He officially incorporated Aegis IT Services in 2016 to simplify hiring, and has managed the company ever since, steering it from a one-person startup to one of the most well-loved IT operations in the Harrisburg region. Outside of work, Jordan collects hardcover books, rounding out bookcases with his favorite series. He treasures time with his wife and his family. His two little children are the lights of his life, and he loves seeing how new and beautiful the world is through their eyes.

Ryan Maguire
Project Manager

Ryan Maguire
Project Manager
Background Data: Ryan realized it was time for a career change in 2017, and ended up following the siren song of IT to his eventual position at Aegis. Originally from Berks County, he first took a job in Lancaster, then tried another position in Harrisburg, and finally found his home in Middletown.
Trademark: Ryan understands machines inside and out. He can disassemble anything and put it back together perfectly, no blueprints needed – a skill he brings to his hobby of restoring cars and motorcycles.
As Project Manager, Ryan oversees the hardware and building aspects of daily work at Aegis. Armed with a keen understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering, he and his team of technicians keep clients’ workstations, servers, and other machinery in top form. A self-described “Renaissance Man,” Ryan enjoys spending time with his family on adventures such as hiking, fishing, hunting, and boating. He also collects antique clocks, with pieces of all sizes dating back as early as the start of the 20th century; the crown jewel of his collection is a mantel-sized German torsion pendulum clock.

Corey Harkless
Operations Manager

Corey Harkless
Operations Manager
Background Data: Five years before Aegis IT Services was founded, Corey signed on to help his friend Jordan reinstall the networks of several pizza chain franchises in the area. The two worked together on numerous network installs over the next year, until Corey accepted a helpdesk position at another company. However, he couldn’t stay away – he began working at Aegis officially in 2020.
Trademark: An avid 28-32mm miniature painter since age 12, Corey can bring inch-tall armies to life with a few masterful strokes of his brush.
As Operations Manager, Corey oversees a sizable portion of day-to-day procedures and policy. He helps everything run smoothly, coordinating between the various teams at Aegis. Corey developed his meticulous attention to detail by painting scale models; and he employs that focus daily at Aegis, where his favorite part of the job is planning and strategizing projects to make the company even better. If he’s not at his desk, he’s probably out exploring the outdoors or perfecting a recipe. He also enjoys 3D printing, studying game design, and collecting vintage technology.

The resident Network Engineer at Aegis, Mike serves as the primary server technician. He develops and maintains numerous complex systems to keep clients connected. A hobby programmer, he is familiar with several programming languages. He loves exploring new worlds, whether in a tabletop RPG or camping under the stars. When Mike isn’t adventuring, he enjoys hanging out with his dog, Jade, and collecting and painting gaming miniatures.

Luke Loobey
Junior Systems Administrator

Luke Loobey
Junior Systems Administrator
Background Data: Prior to joining Aegis, Luke was employed in an IT call center, surrounded by colleagues with years of experience and education. When a small number of permanent positions opened up, Luke was among just a handful of employees chosen for the coveted promotion. In Luke’s own words, “When it eventually occurred to me I was picked over other employees who had been there significantly longer (and who also had many more credentials), my imposter syndrome finally died. I haven't looked back since.”
Trademark: Luke enjoys training in boxing and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Luke is among the longest-tenured employees of Aegis IT Services, having joined in 2016. He is well suited to his role as Helpdesk Manager, where he finds great satisfaction in solving clients’ toughest IT problems. Thanks in part to his training in combat sports, he excels at anticipating customers’ challenges before they appear. In his free time, he enjoys immersing himself in the world. Luke collects hobbies, including nature walks, playing with dogs, skateboarding, gaming, rebuilding computers, drawing, and writing fiction.

Kody Boyle

Kody Boyle
Helpdesk Technician
Background Data: Kody has always felt at home in the “general geekdom” of technology and gaming. In 2020, he began pursuing an IT career to mesh his personal and professional interests.
Trademark: Just as he likes to understand the inner workings of machines, Kody finds fascination in the history of philosophy. Most recently, he has been exploring the nature of belief, studying how both individuals and groups develop convictions.
Since 2021, Kody has served as an Aegis Helpdesk Technician, serving as the first line of defense against clients’ IT headaches. A team player at heart, Kody flourishes when problem solving, putting his mind towards a common goal. In his free time, he applies those critical thinking skills to online gaming with friends. In his words, he is always trying to “find the best path to banish the demon, slay the dragon, ride the gryphon, etc.” As a child, he often daydreamed about magical worlds that could lie behind any door – and as an adult, he keeps that sense of wonder by studying new subjects across countless disciplines.

Paul Herr-Riser
Field Technician

Paul Herr-Riser
Field Technician
Background Data: Originally trained in chemical engineering, Paul found himself interested in getting more hands-on with technology – which led to him pursuing an IT career.
Trademark: Paul is an expert coffee roaster. In his words, “this is the type that you will savor every drop.... twice.... and still not get the jitters!”
Paul joined Aegis in 2021 as a Field Technician. He traverses the greater Harrisburg area daily, visiting clients on-site to install, maintain, diagnose, and repair workstations, servers, and other systems. Every job is unique, but Paul comes prepared, applying the analytical skills he learned as an engineer to unravel complex IT challenges. In his free time, he’s likely to be outdoors, hiking and biking all over the Keystone State – especially on the Appalachian Trail. His furthest distances on the trail (so far!) are 15 miles on foot and 78 miles by bike.

Ona Hogarty
Digital Communications Specialist

Ona Hogarty
Digital Communications Specialist
Background Data: Ona has been an enthusiastic citizen of the World Wide Web since the ‘90s, but didn’t “go pro” until after college, when she began working in SQL and database management.
Trademark: An aspiring radio DJ, Ona delights in collecting new and vintage cassette tapes and exploring underground electronic music, especially nu-disco and synthwave.
A partner with Aegis since 2021, Ona was initially hired to work on systems integrations, but her duties soon expanded to include grant writing, market research, and managing written communications for Aegis (hello, dear reader!). Curiosity drives her, whether she’s digging into data for an article or seeking out the most efficient method of systems management. Computer bugs may be her sworn enemies; but she loves real-life insects and citizen science in entomology. Her favorite is the clearwing hummingbird moth.

H. Quinn
Helpdesk Technician

H. Quinn
Helpdesk Technician
Background Data: Quinn has a lifelong interest in technology, finding fascination in the inner workings of computer science. This intrigue led them to the IT field. Originally a field tech, this is Quinn’s second stint at Aegis; we were delighted to welcome them back in mid-2022.

Quinn got their start in hardware installation, making them well-versed in both physical and digital aspects of computing. As an Aegis Helpdesk Technician, Quinn is always ready to tackle your urgent issues. They approach challenges with a questioning mind, because a comprehensive understanding of the situation leads to better solutions. As an avid board game collector, Quinn is always planning their next move - a skill which they employ when battling computer errors both common and rare. Outside of work, they enjoy studying the quirks of board game design. One of their favorite aspects of this is learning how different games use identical mechanics to achieve varied outcomes.
